Destitute or Divine ? - Venice, Italy

Forest Lawn Cemetary - Burnaby

Forglen Park - Burnaby

There was a time when a creature from the Family shoppingcartae: species zellernius or superstoresis would remain in it's native region of the Mall, in the land of Metropolis. Now, however, this species has slowly drifted into the wooded land just beyond the Metrotown limits where one should not find such a creature.

The Outdoor Washing Machine - E. Vancouver

Certainly an abandoned house - soon to be demolished - is a curiousity to be indulged.
Over looking the boarded-up windows, remnants of toys, impending staircase of doom; you wouldn't think a washing machine would be terribly interesting. Unless you found it outside, which is exactly where I found this one.

Fragile [the burnt elephants] - Vancouver

Walking through the industrial part of Vancouver along Terminal Avenue I came across these elephants. Stopping to take some shots, a police officer approached me to warn me that there had been an increase in violence from the homeless in that area. He was also so kind as to indulge me with the story of these elephants : The PNE Parade had it's last kick at the can in 1995. Beautifully made floats were not meant to rot and were sold to a buyer in California. On their way down the coast the train caught on fire and burned these fragile elephants. They were then sent back up to Vancouver to sit in a neglected lot. Several weeks later I returned to that lot to find that the elephants had been taken away. [note: missing in the photograph is the Cinderella pumpkin carriage that looked to have suffered the same fate]
